Audrey's Closet: 1 Dress- 5 Outfits- Roman Holiday Style

If you fill your wardrobe with great basics, its easy to mix and match accessories to create unlimited outfits that look completely different. I took a basic white dress from Target, and created 5 looks inspired by Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday using 4 shirts, 2 scarves, 2 belts, 2 purses, 3 pairs of shoes, 1 hat, and some various jewelry including two statement necklaces.

Lunch Date:

Black and White Scarf: Target
White studded flip-flops: JCPenney
Straw fedora: vintage
Silver rhinestone bracelet: vintage
Black beaded bracelet: Macys
white bauble earrings: vintage

A light printed scarf is perfect and practical to wear with a summery dress. Pair it with a straw fedora to keep the look casual and pile on some bracelets and dangly earrings, since everything else is minimal.

Site Seeing through Rome:

Black and white gingham 40s top: Vintage from Street Scene
White cut-out flats: vintage from Street scene
turquoise necklace: thrifted (garage sale)
black wicker purse: vintage
black patent belt: TJ Maxx

Wear any kind of basic button-down unbuttoned and belted over a summery dress for a more put-together look. Add some pretty white flats to keep the outfit casual enough for daytime, and a pop of color with this turquoise pendant necklace.

Vespa Ride:

White cut-out flats: vintage from Street Scene
white and blue flower clip-ons: vintage
blue rafia belt: vintage from Street Scene
white cut-out top: thrifted (goodwill)
blue scarf: vintage

A sheer top adds the right amount of texture to this simple dress. Add a colorful belt, scarf, and earrings for a breezy, casual look that's not too fussy.

Spaghetti Dinner:

Black flower beaded necklace: Forever 21
Black and white tie top: vintage from Street Scene
Black wicker purse: vintage
black strappy wooden heels: vintage from Pops Resale

The top seems very daytime, but when paired with some dressy black sandals, and a bold black necklace the look is perfect for an alfresco dinner. A black wicker purse is a great essential summer accessory that goes with almost anything.

Italian Nautical:

Blue and White striped cotton jacket- thrifted (Goodwill)
Light blue scarf (used as belt)- vintage
White studded flip-flops- JCPenney
Mexican Leather clutch- thirfted (garage sale)
Turquoise pendant necklace- thirfted (garage sale)

Using a light, sheer scarf as a belt is an easy way to cinch the waist of a breezy sundress without looking too harsh. The beachy mix of the gauzy white dress with nautical stripes, paired with the more ethnic look of the purse, necklace, and studded sandals is a perfect combination for an Italian Riviera look.
